Danbury High School Band & Guard Program
The
submission deadline for the first $300 of ads sold is August
17, 2009. No
student will be admitted to band camp without meeting the $300
obligation. You are encouraged, however, to continue to sell ads
through October 1, 2009 since our Jamboree is later in the season this
year than in past years and so we have extra time to produce the
program book.
·
While selling your first $300 in ads, use the
Ad Sale Form with the submission deadline of August 17, 2009.
**Ads are accepted on a first come, first served basis.** If more than one student calls on the same business for an
ad, the first one to turn in the order form with the payment
will get credit for that ad sale. The
ad committee will not get involved in resolving disputes. This
must be dealt with between the students without getting the business
involved. It may mean that you need to split the ad credit with another
student.
AFTER YOU HAVE SOLD $300 in ads and wish
to continue selling more ads to raise money for your student’s account,
use the Ad Sale Form with the submission deadline of October 1, 2009.
IMPORTANT!!!!
Sales of COVER advertising
MUST be called in to Mrs. Cohen before commitment of ad.
These
prime advertising spots are sold on a first come, first served basis.
·
Please use a separate Ad Sale Form for each ad
or Music Note sold.
Make additional copies of the order forms and “Proud
Supporter of DHS Marching Band” flyer to have with you as you travel
around town this summer. Many people are happy to donate. They just
need someone to ask them! Ads may be sold to family & friends, as
well as to businesses. The cost of an ad can be considered a donation.
PLEASE seek ads from more than just the businesses you patronize. A
customer's ad will show support for the school and community, just as
local residents support Danbury's businesses.
·
Be sure to fill in the Band/Guard student’s name on each Ad
Sale Form!
·
Payment and ad copy should be collected when
the advertiser returns the ad form to you.
Checks are the safest method of ad payment. It allows for
numerous double-checks to assure proper accounting. Checks should be
made out to Danbury Band Aids, Inc. If a check is not feasible,
cash is also accepted.
·
Provide a receipt to all customers. Their
ad purchase is tax deductible.
·
Give a “Proud Supporter of DHS Marching Band”
flyer to businesses to display in their windows.
This is a great way to make the Marching Band & Guard a
known entity around town!
·
Remember to thank everyone who purchases an ad.
And thank those businesses that do not purchase an ad this
year. Maybe in the future they will decide to support the band in some
other way (donating goods/services for the Silent Auction, etc.).
·
Please DO NOT hold the ads all summer!
Drop off ads and checks/cash in the front office
at DHS as you sell them – remember, the first one to turn in the order
form with payment gets credit for the sale.
There is a mailbox for Band Aids. Make sure the
envelope is clearly marked BAND AIDS. Prompt submission of
ads and payment enables the committee to list advertisers on the band’s
website, which will minimize multiple people calling on the same
businesses and also allows the committee to begin layout of the program
book in advance. If you have ads and can’t drop them off at the DHS
main office, please contact Mrs. Cohen at 798-6342.
Additional
order forms, receipt forms, flyers and suggestions for selling ads, as
well as a list of advertisers who have already purchased ads will be
available at http://www.dhsmarchingband.com/adsales
