Jamboree 2009

Jamboree Notes from Joe

Joe Brittain is our committee chair for the 2009 DHS Jamboree.  Joe will be providing updates on the Jamboree that will be posted here.  Please watch this space for details.

Posted 11/1/2009, morning after the Jamboree:

Good morning,

We just finished our second cup of coffee, slept an extra hour, and  just wanted to thank everyone for their hard work and support.  An event like this takes many hands, and with everyone pitching in to help, the show went very smoothly (even with the drizzle, mist and showers!).  There are so many of you who contributed in so many ways, it's hard to list everyone's name and their special efforts and hard work.  We wish to thank each one of you because with your hard work and dedication to the band program and our kids, we feel the Jamboree was a successful event.

Shout outs to:

Paul - the show was great, the band's performance was wonderful!  It is a pleasure working with you.

Tom Sanford and committee -  excellent job in the concession, as always

Teresa and Arnie Finaldi and  Hospitality committee -  the judges were so happy and well-fed.  Beautiful and elegant!

Frank Salvatore -  Incredible, witty and entertaining!  Thank you.

Matt Rose - You're the man!

Linda Mayerson - You were poised, diplomatic and professional under pressure!

Trish Davis (Greeters),  Dave Burns (Staging), Aubrey Davidson and Tom Morris (Parking), and Richard Creaturo (Pit) and committee members - The flow of the show went off without a hitch.  Thank you.

Baked Goods Committee -  Thank you to all who pulled together to help Lori.  A wonderful team.

Kathy Cardamone (Air & Candy grams), Barbara Ziegler (50/50), Kim Zonenshine (Gate), Crystal Rumph (Souvenirs) and committe members- Thank you and great job!

Kevin Wood (Table & Chairs) and committee members - Many hands made light work!

Anthony Mosca and Rich Rubinow  (Signs and Communications) - Well done!

Jeff and Joan Hull - Hoping for a good report.  Thank you for all your help and experience.

Sue Cohen and Crystal Rumph (Program) -  Big job, Big  thank you!

Melvette Hill (Publicity) -  Great job getting the word out and bringing in the dignitaries.

Amanda Riley - Can't wait to see the pictures.

Senior Escorts and band/guard members -  Thank you for helping out.  Your parents appreciate it.  We are so proud of all of you.  Great show!

Kim Maier -  Last, but not least...Huge thanks to you and Tom for all of your help with the show.  Couldn't have done it without you.

There are certainly people we have not mentioned by name, but our heartfelt thanks go out to all of you.  We know it was a long, wet day and we appreciate everyone's contribution.

And to Alumni Parents:

Let us take a moment to thank each of you for your contribution as well.  Each of you have been an inspiration to us to stand up and stay involved.

Whether it's Rich and Carol walking in, with out being asked, and devoting countless hours of hard physical work, or Diane staying involved with the web site and program book, Frank and Sheryl stepping in when Tom Csegnery could not make it (and writing the entire script), Nancy finding a way to help us with Staples coupons, Jean and Gary helping out with the trophies, Gina working 50/50, Tally's consultation or Donna's calm leadership stepping in when Lori fell ill, we can not thank you enough.

We've already heard from a few current senior parents who look forward to support the Jamboree again next year, undoubtably following the example you have set.  Of course we hope everyone will join the fun again next year.
