GL Scrip Fundraiser What is the schedule for order and delivery? I can't find my order form. What do I do? Can my family, friends, neighbors and co-workers order gift cards through this program? Scrip
is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words,
scrip is gift certificates from national and local
retailers. They’re the
same gift certificates that you buy at
the store. Many popular retailers
participate in our scrip program including Stop
& Shop, A&P, Shop Rite, Shaws,
Macy's, Kohl’s, JCPenney, The Gap, Shell,
Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.
You’re
probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money.
It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift
certificates to our organization at a discount.
Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value,
they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as
revenue. And scrip is exciting,
because everybody wins: ·
The
retailer gets cash up front and repeat business… ·
You get
a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling… ·
The
marching band gets a regular source of revenue. The
beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to
work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny.
Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that
participate in the scrip program! And
scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food,
clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out. If you have questions about the program, I will be happy to answer your questions. You can either call me at 798-9907, email me at diane@dhsmarchingband.com, or catch me before or after practice or at a Band Aids meeting. The
Danbury Band Aids scrip program promises to be a simple and effective
fundraising program. Thanks for
your support, and we hope you’ll participate! Participation is easy. Simply fill out the enrollment form, get an order form, complete both and hand or mail them to Diane Farbman along with a check or money order for your order. Within a week, in most cases, you will have your scrip order and can begin using it right away. Questions? No problem. Contact Diane Farbman by phone, 798-9907, or email, diane@dhsmarchingband.com, or find her after practice or at a band event. There is also a lot of information on the GL Scrip website. What is the schedule for order and delivery? Here is the tentative schedule for Scrip order and delivery through the end of the school year. Changes will be communicated via email.
If there is enough interest to place orders more frequently, this order schedule will be adjusted. Any changes in the schedule will be communicated via email and will be reflected in this space. I can't find my order form. What do I do? You can download order forms from the website. Be sure that you student's full name is on all order forms and is accompanied by a check or money order in the correct amount. Right click to download the Enrollment form (word doc - choose Save As) Right click to download the Order form (excel spreadsheet- choose Save As) Can my family, friends, neighbors and co-workers order gift cards through this program? Of course! Build up your orders by asking others to purchase gift cards from you. You are responsible for collecting their orders and the money to cover them. You can either add them to your order or fill out a separate order form for them. Your student account will benefit from these additional orders. Remember, the student account receives 75% of the proceeds. The remaining 25% goes to the Band Aids general fund. Last year, many students had over $150 credited to their student accounts. One actually had over $400 credited to their student account from this program. The grocery gift cards add up over time! Think of gift cards for holidays, birthdays, and other special events. In addition to the retailers on the order form, you can check out the list of participating retailers on the GL Scrip website. If you are interested in any of these additional retailers, just add them to your order form when you turn it in. The order form was developed to show most of the local retailers that participate, though there are many others available.
